NET_WORK


스튜디오 신유는 넷스파와 협력하여, 해양 폐기물인 폐어망에 새로운 가치를 부여하는 작업을 시작했다. 전세계에서 연간 64만톤, 한국에서만 연간 4.4만톤이 발생하는 폐어망과 폐어망 재활용 소재를 통해 아트워크, 가구, 오브제를 제작하고 있다.



The studio began working with NETSPA(the first company in Korea which builds a recycling system for waste fishing nets) to give new value to waste fishing nets. Artworks, furniture, and objects are produced through recycled materials for waste fishing nets, which generate 640,000 tons per year around the world.

폐어망 문제


1. 태평양 쓰레기 섬의 46% 차지 (플라스틱 빨대는 0.03%)

2. 전세계 해양 플라스틱 쓰레기의 약 10%

3. 전세계 연간 64만톤 / 한국 연간 4.4만톤 발생

폐어망은 일명 Ghost net (유령그물)으로 불리며 수많은 해양 생명체의 목숨을 앗아가고 있다.


국내 연간 어획량의 약 10%의 해양 생물이 유령 그물에 걸려 죽거나 다쳐 폐사되며, 폐그물로 인한 사고는 연간 300건으로 전체 해상사고의 13%를 차지한다.

Abandoned fishing nets, also known as ghost nets, have claimed the lives of countless marine life.

About 10% of Korea’s annual catch of marine life is killed or injured by ghost nets, and accidents caused by waste nets account for 13% of the total maritime accidents with 300 accidents a year.

스튜디오 신유와 폐어망


1. 선과 여백의 미감
그물망은 선과 여백의 반복된 패턴으로 만들어진다. 선과 여백은 스튜디오 신유의 대표적인 조형 언어다.

2. BLACK & GREEN
스튜디오 신유는 검정과 녹색의 조화를 통해 숲의 음영, 즉 응달진 곳에서 펼쳐지는 자연의 무한한 생명력을 표현하곤 했다. NET_WORK에 사용되는 자망은 자연의 색, 녹색을 띄고 있다. 바다에 버려진 재료를 통해 녹음으로 우거진 자연을 표현하고자 한다.


STUDIO SHINYOO & Ghost Net


1. Beauty in Lines and Margins The net is made of repeated patterns of lines and margins. Line and margin are representative design languages of STUDIO SHINYOO.


2. BLACK & GREEN STUDIO SHINYOO used to express the infinite vitality of nature in the shade of the forest, that is, in the corresponding place, through the harmony of black and green. The magnetic net used in NET_WORK has a natural color and green color. Through materials discarded in the sea, we intend to express nature lush with green.

1. 폐어망을 활용한 작업물
버려진 재료를 활용한다는 “의미”와 “가치”를 넘어, 스튜디오 신유 고유의 미감을 직관적으로 느낄 수 있는 여러 작업물을 보여주고자 한다.

“지속가능한 디자인과 환경문제”라는 가치에 공감하는 사람, 기업(단체), 아티스트들이 유기적이고 긴밀하게 연결(networking)될 것이라 믿는다.
