기둥이 건축을 만들고, 건축이 기둥을 만든다. 기둥이 건축의 구조물이 되기 위해서, 기둥은 그 자신에 건축을 다시 내포한다.

전통이라는 기둥으로 만들어진 테두리 속 우리 생활은 여전히 현대와 관계를 주고 받는다. 현대문명과 마주한 나무 기둥 표면은 자신의 물성을 지키기 위한 기제로 덮여있지만, 그 내부에 새로운 탄생의 잠재력이 있다.

한국 국기인 태극기에 표현된 음양은 무한한 역동성을 의미한다. 공중 원형 구조물의 멈추지 않는 순환은 주종관계 없는 동등한 이항대립의 움직임이다.

스튜디오 신유는 고착된 전통의 표면을 부수고 들어가, 동시성을 갖춘 형태로 재창조한다. 갈라진 틈으로 외부에서 보이지 않는 이면을 들여다본다. 그곳에 과거에서 현재로 이어지는 흐름이 있다.

Pillars form the foundation of architecture, and architecture in turn shapes the pillars. For a column to be part of an architectural structure, it reflects and implies the entire architecture.

Similarly, our lives, framed by the pillars of tradition, are constantly interacting with modernity. The surface of a wooden pillar facing contemporary civilization is protected by mechanisms to preserve its material, but within it lies the potential for renewal.

The yin and yang symbolized in the Korean flag, Taegeukgi, embody an infinite dynamism—a perpetual circulation of aerial, circular structures in a balanced, dual opposition, free from hierarchical relationships.

STUDIO SHINYOO dismantles the entrenched surfaces of tradition and reconstructs them in a synchronous form. Through the cracks in this reconstruction, we glimpse the unseen layers beyond the surface, revealing a continuous flow from the past into the present.
