물질과 감각으로 경험하던 세계에서 더 나아가 정신적으로 유영할 수 있는 정원

LIN Collection을 통해 사람과 공간, 자연과 인위, 문화와 문화를 이어주는 매개체로서의 가구를 선보인다.

정원은 사람들의 생활반경 내에 인공의 자연을 구축한 것이다. 4면이 모두 시야가 트여있어 풍광이 뛰어난 무신사 테라스가 위치한 지리적 이점을 고려하여, 도심 한 가운데에서도 산의 정상을 등반한 것 같은 기분을 경험할 수 있도록 기획했다. 동그랗고 작은 돌이 시냇물처럼 흐르고 있는 동선을 따라 전시공간에 입장하게 되면, 등산로를 따라 걷는 것처럼 높게 세워진 나무들과 그 틈으로 새어나오는 빛을 발견하게 된다. 중간중간 편하게 쉬었다 갈 수 있는 테이블 세팅이 되어 있고, 폭포를 연상케하는 아크릴 작품들이 오후의 태양을 받아 반짝이는 모습을 경험할 수 있다. 자연의 진면목은 겉으로 보이지 않는 음영, 즉 응달진 곳에서 펼쳐지는 무한한 생명력일지도 모른다. 햇빛을 받아 푸르게 우거진 녹음 이면에 숨겨진 현상 이면의 가치와 이야기들로서 린 컬렉션LIN collection이 배치되어 있다. 린 컬렉션 작품 하나하나가 나무라는 재료와, 철이라는 인공재료의 합으로 이루어진 하나의 작은 단위의 정원이 된다.

A GARDEN BEYOND MATERIAL

Through the LIN Collection, STUDIO SHINYOO presents furniture as a medium that bridges human and space, nature and artifice, one culture and another.

A garden is an artificial fragment of nature, carefully placed within the radius of daily life. Taking advantage of the open-air location and panoramic views of Musinsa Terrace, this exhibition is conceived to offer the feeling of summiting a mountain—right in the middle of the city. Visitors enter the space by following a winding path of small, round stones, like a stream flowing gently beneath the feet. As in a slow ascent, tall wooden forms rise on either side, with soft light filtering through their gaps—evoking the feeling of walking a quiet forest trail. Tables are arranged like rest stops along the way, inviting pause and reflection. Acrylic works—reminiscent of cascading waterfalls—catch the afternoon light and shimmer with fleeting brilliance. True nature often reveals itself not in plain sight, but in shadows. In the hushed shade lies a quiet abundance, an unseen vitality. Each piece from the LIN Collection is placed as part of that unseen story— a composition made of wood, alive with memory, and steel, shaped by human hands. Together, they form small fragments of a garden—each a contained, living structure where nature and intention converge.
